7/10/2023 0 Comments Need windows for parallelsInitially I bought VMware for old MacBook because of parallels high price issue but later on M1 I had no option because VMware was not in development so I bought what was in the market. They also have yearly subscription version which again high compared to standalone version. There is a cost involved with parallels to even maintain it. I have VMware on old MacBook too which works good but may not be as good as parallels. Mostly their software will not work previous macOS version after upgrade and you have to upgrade parallels too. Parallels is very good on M1 so far but it’s a pain to pay money for every macOS version upgrade. There are two virtualization software that supports M1 as far as I know. Now we get a glorious Windows logo and boot screen within Parallels Desktop itself: Now you need to do just a wee bit more Windows configuration, including what I consider a critical step: You always want to select automatic update unless you’re a complete Windows guru and know exactly what you’re doing. ![]() The windows app should work on windows arm version. The 8 gb model leaves 4 gb for windows and you will have poor performance for windows app. ![]() You need any virtualization (licensed) software which works on windows arm and M1, believe me you need 16 gb ram in M1. To run windows app you need (licensed) windows 10 pro arm Buy MacBook M1 if you want, performance is very good.
